Sakay & Asika come from a world where chili peppers are even hotter and freakier than in ours : along with the burning sensation and hot peculiar feel, they can cause body modifications, give super powers and a lot of other weird stuff that can be more-or-less practical.

Think Devil Fruits from One Piece - Zoan, Logia or Paramecia, they all work; only:

-they don't come in one single exemplary, all sorts grow in great numbers everywhere and you can even cultivate it yourself (it's tough, tho)

-the effects don't last long, a whole body-affecting chili's effect can last 30 minutes, tops. Then again, you can eat multiple ones at the same time (we don't recommend that at all) or just a third of one, depending on your needs.

-they can taste bad, real bad. The freakier the effect, the greater the pain and the toll is likely to be. And it's not just the mouth, you can feel it in your whole body. Pro consumers train a lot and gradually try hotter peppers. Sakay's signature Dimb'lahy's intensity is around 600,000 SHU and comes with the sensation of your body incinerating (doesn't hurt but it's quite the shock).

Bio

Sakay is a Pikaroka, an official discoverer and researcher of chili peppers.

She was enrolled in a pikaroka organization at the age of 13 because by then, she proved to already have a very strong resistance to the 'consumption recoil' and a natural instinct for finding and understanding peppers.

The people who discovered her think she might be a survivor of a village nearby rare peppers that was burned down by traffickers or poachers but nothing is certain. She has trouble recalling her past too.

On her official assignments, she is often paired with Asika, another young prodigy. Together, they have a lot of complicity, Sakay is only seen really letting loose when she is with him. He's one of the only person who can make her laugh. Otherwise, she wants to stay serious and focused.

Strengths/Weaknesses

Sakay can be a very intense person. In addition to that, she is well-built, agile and enduring. And of course, she has a high pain tolerance, not just pepper-pain. She is as tough mentally as she is physically, too. Got the never-back-down attitude. She's not oblivious to the point of rushing to her blatant doom, just very stubborn.

She doesn't fight smartly though, she fights with fierceness… and her instincts. Sometimes, it works great, sometimes not. Combine that with her dogged determination and it can become a very troublesome thing. If she encounters someone who can counter her techniques or just has a clear natural advantage over her, she might not realize the issue in time and just keep pressing on to her defeat.

! Sakay is an expert chili consumer. She can handle hot ones, multiple ones and combined ones (that last one if EXTREMELY tough). It also means she has acquired mastery over certain of her peppers and can pinpoint the effect it has on her body (focus it on her arm for example). Her expertise is the reason a pepper like the Miloko can serve her for she can control the color(s) she displays at her advantage.
She also remembers some cool tricks that require sciency knowledge that Asika taught her.
